Mission to Malawi 2010

Our Treasurer, Ron Bignell, and his wife Liz will be flying out to Malawi in a few weeks time with Reaper Ministries. Read on to find out what they will be getting up to!

We shall be flying out on 22nd April to Lilongwe, capital of Malawi, where we shall be based along with the 3 other members of the team from Reaper Ministries, returning to the UK on 12th May. Working with a group of churches there we shall be preaching on all 3 Sundays, delivering a 5-day series of teaching seminars in Lilongwe together with a day's seminar in Blantyre, visiting remote villages and also visiting and speaking in the main prison. We shall also be attending the wedding of one of the key church leaders, Enoch.

 Reaper Ministries has built and is funding a school for 200 children who, because of poverty, are effectively excluded from the main school system. We shall be visiting that school to see how it is progressing and to encourage the teachers in particular. They are working with limited resources and with hardly any desks and chairs. More funds are needed to buy these. 

Malawi is a poor country and the team will need to meet all the costs of putting on the events which will include feeding the participants in the teaching seminars with a full meal each day. We need prayer for protection as we travel, some of which will be on unmade roads, good health, inspiration as we preach and teach, and provision of all the financial needs. Most of all we pray that there will be much fruit and many lives will be transformed, which is the desire of the church leaders who invited us.
