MISSION DIRECT  Several small groups have undertaken short term social work with Mission Direct to Sierra Leone and Uganda. In 2009, it is planned that a further small party will visit Zambia. www.missiondirect.org

SOUL IN THE CITY, DURBAN In the summer of 2009, a group of six young people and one adult are spending two weeks engaged in social work in this city. They have all raised their own support. www.soulinthecity.co.uk

BLESSING BIN provides practically to those in need every week at St Mary’s and not just at Harvest. Rear of Church, is a plastic box labelled ‘Blessing Bin’. Items donated are regularly shared between St Paul’s night shelter for the homeless in Bournemouth and HYPED/DOORS which helps vulnerable young people in Ferndown - a great way to practically demonstrate God’s love to those in difficult situations. Why not regularly add an item to your shopping in order to bless someone else. Last Sunday of the month these goods are taken to the front of church to show their worth in God’s sight.

As a FAIRTRADE CHURCH we are committed to the purchase and exclusive use of fairly-traded beverages at all our gatherings. Monthly on the first Saturday, we hold a FAIRTRADE SHOP in the Church hall from 10.30 – noon. A great way to show God’s justice and assign his dignity to people by purchasing their fairly-traded products (food, craft, cards) and sharing in a cup of coffee.
