Mission
God has called his church to reach others for him, to seek to establish his justice on earth, to minister to the poor and needy and to shine his light in the darkness.
Jesus gave this charge to the eleven disciples: “God authorised and commanded me to commission you: go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.” Matthew 11: 18-20. (The Message)
At St Mary’s we respond to the Great Commission in a variety of ways.
Our Mission Team co-ordinates much of this which includes promoting regular prayer for mission and mission partners, giving away 12.5% of the church’s income, supporting and encouraging those who want to be involved in mission and collecting items to give away to the needy locally and overseas.
