School Assemblies
St Mary's has very positive links with Ferndown Schools. Many of our church members, and the clergy, take assemblies, which we see as a vital way in communicating the love and truth of Jesus Christ to the next generation, especially those who never come to church. Assemblies are first class opportunities to show that the Church cares about every child, and that God's Word is relevant to all people.
Here are the links we enjoy at present.
Parley First School
Approximately twice a term we are able to take assemblies at Parley School, and we thank God for the links built up over many years through Ferndown Community Church (FCC).
Ferndown First School
Various year groups come to St Mary's for assemblies led by the clergy, at Christmas, Easter, and Harvest, and we hope to develop these links further in the years ahead.
Ferndown Middle School
The Middle School are particularly receptive to our monthly visits to take whole school assemblies, and it is a privelege to share Jesus with young people and staff alike.
Ferndown Upper School
The Upper School comes to St Mary's for a Christmas Carol Service, and we hope the friendly links will be developed further very soon.
Hampreston School (Church of England)
Because St Mary's Church is a part of the Benefice of Hampreston (a church term meaning two parishes are linked together), a good number of church members assist Rev Laurie Clow with assemblies in the school.
IN SUMMARY
