Mission Impossible
Much valuable mission work, such as Amber’s, is made possible by the money we give back to God to help grow His kingdom. Every Quarter, 12.5% of all donations to St Mary’s Church is used to fund Missionary work of which around 10% is allocated towards various appeals. During the first quarter of this year, the allocation totalled £5,454.
Here’s how we distributed it to do God’s work:
£696 each to The Church Mission Society, The South American Mission Society, The Leprosy Mission, the Bible Society, TEAR Fund, European Christian Mission International and the Church Pastoral Aid Society.
£300 towards Amber Austin’s work in Mozambique and £150 to help develop All Saints Church, Haggerston, East London, situated in a very socially deprived and needy area.
£150 to Kids for Kids, an organisation working in Sudan, which lends 6 goats to a family for 2 years, after which the family keeps any kids which have been born and the original 6 are passed on to another family. Five years on, the organisation now invites donations to provide hand pumps, ploughs, donkeys, tree seedlings, and training for midwives and paravets. Our donation will provide three donkeys – an essential means of transport.
