Faithworks In Ferndown

Steve Chalke

Faithworks was founded in 2001 by Steve Chalke MBE, Director of the Oasis Trust and well-known media presenter. It works towards empowering and inspiring individual Christians and churches to develop their role at the hub of their community by setting up their own projects to serve local needs.

Faithworks Ferndown has been set up to facilitate community projects run by local churches. It is managed by a group of local Christians.

The first such project in Ferndown has been initiated by Turbary Church and aims to support women and children on the Trickett’s Cross estate. It is called the Bus Stop Club and currently involves serving refreshments and chatting to mums while they wait for the school bus from Ferndown First School.

As relationships are being built up, many opportunities are being identified to provide more social, health and educational support.

Faithworks Ferndown was officially launched on the 2nd July - a detailed article of that event and further information is also available.
