| Sat 5 Jul | THE PERSECUTED CHURCH - ETHIOPIA |
Islamic radicals attacked two churches in a village injuring 17 Christians & killing one. Entering during Sunday worship, they locked all doors, shouting "God is good"& attacked the congregation with machetes. A 45-year-old father of four, was beheaded. Several had limbs severed. A five-year-old boy had his arm cut to the bone. Pray for the injured, especially for those who have lost limbs and might struggle to find work to support their families. Please ask God to provide for them, physically & emotionally. |
| Sun 6 Jul | ST MARY'S CHURCH | As we thank the Lord for the privilege of belonging to Him and to St Mary's, we also thank Him for our preaching and teaching team. Please remember the need for an associate ordained person and the profile being drawn up. Please also bring to the Lord, Lynne Morris currently undergoing Ordination training. She has weekends at Sarum College, weekly Tutorials, written assignments and a small group in the church who support her. May God's power undergird her during this three-year period. |
| Mon 7 Jul | TEARFUND |
Remember the ‘Drop the Debt' campaign? 10 years on, we give thanks for the incred-ible achievements of the Jubilee debt movement. Please pray that debt cancellation would continue to bring real and tangible benefits to poor communities worldwide. |

CMS missionaries and others gather together to study the word of God. Each of these is the recipient of a micro-finance loan, administered by CMS working with the local church in the DR of Congo to break the cycle of poverty. We praise God for this. |
| Thu 10 Jul | SUDAN LINK - DIOCESE OF SALISBURY | Bishop Ezekiel Kondo and some of his family were recently subjected to machine gun fire outside their home over the course of a long night. They prayed fervently and were finally allowed out when peace came. Khartoum, is under Sharia law and is increasingly unsafe for Christians to live and work in. Praise God for His protection. |
| Fri 11 Jul | BIBLE SOCIETY | For the first time in its 87-year history, the Chinese Communist Party has included the word ‘religion' in its constitution, says BS magazine, "Word in Action" Spring issue. The gov't are quoted as saying they are determined to enhance the active role of the religious circle. We pray that practice of "religion" will bring truth & freedom for all. |
| Sat 12 Jul | THE PERSECUTED CHURCH - SUDAN | A national census is being held to determine how power & wealth is divided between north & south ahead of next year's elections. Civilians & rebel groups in Darfur are refusing to take part, claiming that, without peace, a census is meaningless. Pray that politicians and civilians will unite in a commitment to build peace and that the border demarcation & dividing up oil revenues can be resolved. |
| Sun 13 Jul | ST MARY'S CHURCH | Churchwarden, Simon Morgan and Sue his wife, are going out to Rukungari in the south west of Uganda on 30 Aug. for two weeks as part of a 20-strong Mission Direct team. Pray for safe travel, good health and means to share God's love and compassion not only with the children, but with local workers and others they meet. Please also pray for necessary fund-raising activities. |
