Baptisms, Weddings & Funerals

Baptisms

The Baptism of Infants normally takes place during either the 9.15am or 11.00am service except for on the 1 st Sunday of the month. All enquiries should be made to the Parish Office (Tel. 897087) where our Administrator will arrange for somebody to visit and explain our practice.

Married couples who wish their child to be baptised should be living in the parish or if not resident, be a regular worshipper at St Mary’s.

We usually begin with a service of “Thanksgiving for the Birth of a Child” – this may be all that some will require if they feel unable to fulfil the promises in the Baptism service.

A service of Dedication is also available for a child where parents believe they should be baptised by their own choice when they are older.

Weddings

St Mary's is licensed for those who fulfil the legal qualifications. Enquiries may be made through the Parish office.

Funerals

St Mary's may be used for Funeral services and the clergy are available to take services of Cremation. The churchyard of All Saints, Hampreston is available for burials and for the internment of ashes for those who reside in the Hampreston Benefice which includes the Parish of Ferndown.
